Now You Know

People always said I was strong
But they were wrong, surely wrong
Now I’ve fallen in love and there’s nowhere to go
A warm touch is all that I know

I hope the words will flow out of me
At least enough to set me free
I turn away while fear subsides
Praying my heart will realize

When we are together I am shiny and whole
Your existence enflames me to my soul
The feelings inside me line up in a row
And thank you for that, now you know

It doesn’t get easier with age: you understood
That even though things aren’t always good
It’s a race to do it all before we die
Reincarnation is a promise, but still you must try

What if we’d never been in the same place
Or if you had left here without a trace
You make me feel young, is it all just for show
There I’ve said it, now you know

I wonder what this song means to you
Memories of us guide me through
Having written this down, I’m beginning to glow
It’s off my chest, now you know

This is complicated—do we stop, do we go
Either way, it’s on its way, now you know
